Charity Match in aid of EPILEPSY ACTION. Sunday 11th March 2012
At Heanor Miners Welfare, Ilkeston Road, Heanor.
One of our club coaches Danny Willdig has a son, Freddie who we found out last Summer has Epilepsy. Thankfully Freddie is fine and is able to lead a normal life due to the care of Doctors and his parents.
Our aim as a club was to raise around £500 for the charity as a thank you from Freddie's family and Heanor Juniors. Due to the fantastic weather and a great turn out of around 200 people we managed to almost double the target and hope to give Epilepsy Action £1,000.
As chairman I would like to thank everyone involved. Especially, Chris, Tig and the committee at Heanor Welfare, Roger Davies from Derby County along with his team mates, our own fundraising team of Louise,Tracey,Mandy,Wendy and Sue. Tim Gillot, Richard, Elaine and many others who helped organise this event and turned up on the day
